Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what data GoMining Simulator ("we", "the Site", available at gmsim.ca) collects when you use it, how we use that data, and what rights you have over it. We are an independent tool and are not affiliated with GoMining or its operators.

1. Information We Collect

We collect the minimum information needed to operate the Site:

• Account information — when you sign in with Google or via an email magic link, we receive your email address, display name, and profile picture (Google sign-in only). This is provided by Google or by you.
• Usage data — which sections of the Site you open, the duration of your session, how many page views you generate, and the timestamps of your sign-ins. This helps us understand which features people use most.
• Calculator inputs you save — if you save a scenario or portfolio entry, that data is stored against your account so you can retrieve it later.
• Device and connection metadata — IP address, browser user agent, and referrer (the page you came from). Standard server-side log information.

We do not collect your wallet keys, private keys, seed phrases, or any on-chain credentials. The Site never asks for them.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To authenticate you and keep you signed in.
• To save your calculator scenarios and personal preferences.
• To understand which features are popular and improve the Site.
• To detect and prevent abuse (spam sign-ups, malicious activity).
• To display advertising via Google AdSense (see Section 5).

3. Service Providers

We use a small number of third-party services to run the Site. By using the Site, you also agree to their respective policies:

• Google Firebase (Authentication + Firestore database) — stores your account record and usage statistics. Firebase Privacy.
• Vercel — hosts the Site files and serves them to your browser. Vercel Privacy.
• Google AdSense — serves contextual advertising. Google Ads Policy.

4. Cookies and Local Storage

The Site uses browser local storage and cookies for the following purposes:

• Authentication — Firebase stores a session token so you stay signed in across visits.
• Preferences — your language, theme, currency, and any cached calculator values.
• Advertising — Google AdSense and its partners may set cookies to serve personalized or non-personalized ads.

You can clear cookies and local storage at any time via your browser settings. Doing so will sign you out and erase locally cached preferences.

5. Advertising

The Site displays advertising served by Google AdSense. Google and its partners may use cookies and similar technologies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this site or other sites on the internet. You can opt out of personalized advertising at any time by visiting Google Ads Settings or aboutads.info.

6. Data Retention

Account records and usage data are retained while your account is active. If you would like your account and all associated data deleted, email us at the address below — we will remove your record from Firebase within 30 days.

7. Your Rights

Depending on where you live (e.g. EU/UK under GDPR, California under CCPA, Canada under PIPEDA), you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete the personal information we hold about you. To exercise any of these rights, email us at the address below.

8. Children

The Site is not directed to children under 13 (or under the age of digital consent in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

9. Security

We rely on Google Firebase's enterprise-grade infrastructure to secure your data in transit and at rest. No system is perfectly secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. International Transfers

Our infrastructure is provided by Google and Vercel, which are headquartered in the United States and operate data centers globally. By using the Site, you consent to your information being processed outside your country of residence.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top will reflect any changes. Material changes will be posted as a notice in-app.
